The programme provides salary support for a Global Policy Advisor for Paediatric HIV, Dr Martina Penazzato. 

The Global Policy Advisor is responsible for revisions and updates of WHO guidelines on HIV testing, treatment and care for infants, children and adolescents living with HIV. She also advises on in-country policy adoption and programme planning for adolescent HIV and child survival programmes. Through her work, WHO promotes scientific and programmatic innovation, and works with others to scale up HIV services for infants, children and adolescents.


Impact

With the support of its Global Policy Advisor, the World Health Organisation has led the development of new and updated policies, including guidance on HIV diagnostics, treatment and care for infant children and adolescents affected by HIV and updates on HIV and infant feeding.
