Through a partnership with partner foundations and the FSG India team, the programme will help create a business ecosystem where low-cost private preschools are both financially viable for operators and educationally effective for children.

This will be done by:

  • identifying affordable business models, and using pilots to test and refine them
  • designing interventions to address the enabling environment including regulation, policy and finance
  • assembling a network of stakeholders to disseminate good business practices and maintain a functioning market
This grant is being managed by UBS Optimus Foundation.

Impact

By 2022, the programme will give at least 170,000 children the chance to be part of affordable and high-quality early childhood education programmes.

These programmes will make sure children are prepared for success in primary school and beyond.
