K-CEP will work to support the coordination and governance of the $51 million programme - specifically the operation of K-CEP’s Efficiency Cooling Office (ECO) - through providing delivery capability for K-CEP with the aim of accelerating the integration of energy efficiency into the phase down of fluorinated gases.

Impact

K-CEP focuses on the energy efficiency of cooling in order to double the climate benefits and significantly increase the development benefits of the Kigali Amendment to phase down HFCs. It will significantly increase the climate and development benefits of the HFC phase down by facilitating simultaneous improvement in energy efficiency of cooling. The main impacts to achieve are:

·       Greenhouse gas emission reductions.
·       Room Air Conditioning market transformation.
·       Increased access to efficient, clean cooling for those most at risk of productivity loss and heat-related illnesses.
