Jonny is Senior Advisor to the CEO and Executive Team and oversees the strategic engagement and communications strategy of the organisation.

In the late 1980s he taught in a rural secondary school in eastern Zimbabwe and from 1999-2001 he worked in South Africa on a project to support political parties in South Africa’s first democratically elected parliament.
Jonny was Deputy Director of Communications in 10 Downing Street and then Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister throughout the 2010-2015 coalition government. He is a former Director of Policy and Communications for the Liberal Democrats and has worked in political communications and public relations for over 25 years. He was appointed as a member of the House of Lords in 2015. He is an external adviser (pro bono) to the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
