Director, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

Kirti Iyengar has been leading CIFF’s work on Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in India since November 2021.

Kirti brings three decades of experience in global health, specially SRHR, to her work. Prior to joining CIFF, Kirti worked with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), where she designed and oversaw large SRHR interventions in India, focussing on contraception, maternal health and integration of SRH & HIV. She earlier served as Adjunct Professor at Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke University, and headed the SRHR portfolio at Action Research & Training for Health (ARTH), a national non-profit organization. Kirti has worked extensively on supporting and innovating within government programmes, and piloting models of service delivery in low resource settings with a focus on demedicalisation, including  task shifting and self-care approaches.

Kirti is a medical doctor with specialization in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, and PhD in International Health from Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm.
