Fighting child slavery
Grant of $10 million to expand Freedom Fund's anti-slavery work.
More than eight million children are estimated to be trapped in slavery. Criminal networks generate billions of dollars of profits from exploiting poor and vulnerable families. Disrupting these enterprises and ending child slavery requires political commitment, funding and new innovative approaches based on evidence of what works best.
We are pleased to partner with the Freedom Fund, the world’s first private donor fund dedicated to ending modern slavery. A grant of $10 million over five years will help increase its anti-slavery work around the world, with a particular focus on tackling the exploitation of children. Michael Anderson will also join the Freedom Fund’s Board of Directors.
The Freedom Fund shares our focus on evidence-based solutions, rigorous evaluation of interventions and the generation and sharing of data.
