This week, CIFF welcomes Faustina Fynn-Nyame to the Nairobi office, joining as our Executive Director for Africa, leading the development and execution of our strategy across Africa and strengthening and scaling up our partnerships and impact.

Faustina holds a vast global and African network, from local grassroots organisations and governments, to private sector foundations and the African Union. Faustina was previously the Director of the Women’s Health Project at PSI, leading PSI’s safe abortion portfolio in 25 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Before PSI, she was the Country Director of Marie Stopes Kenya, founded Marie Stopes Ghana, and held the position of Nurse Manager at the Diana Princess of Wales Centre for Reproductive Medicine.

Faustina was born in Ghana, before migrating to the UK with her family as a young girl. It was in the UK where she started her career in nursing, becoming passionately committed to reducing maternal mortality and morbidity.

Faustina says: ‘I’m incredibly excited to be joining the CIFF team as Executive Director for Africa. Working towards increasing sexual and reproductive health and rights and newborn and maternal care has been an integral part of my career, and I hope to achieve greater impact and sustained, positive change across these areas through growing CIFF partnerships across Africa.’
